They strive to create shows and spaces that celebrate gender diversity and drag beyond the world of Rupaul. Queera is known for their activism\, roller skating antics\, and ridiculousness on the mic. Off stage Queera continues to be a trans and mental health advocate. They are a co-founder of Valley Pride and work as a Queer Trans Trauma Therapist. \n  \n  \n \nSassafras Smalls (she/her) \nDrawn to glitter\, wigs and walking the runway (aka hallway) from a young age\, Sassafras first took the stage at a Thorgy Thor show when she was 7 years old and fell in love with the art of drag. Her drag combines glamour\, playfulness\, and advocacy. She runs workshops across the province on supporting gender-diverse youth\, has spoken at WE Day\, and is featured in the documentary ‘Translations’ about Trans folks in Nova Scotia. Sassafras is here to promote youth in drag and slay down the patriarchy! \n  \n  \n \nDiana B. Tease (she/her) \nDiana B. Tease is Halifax’s Dashing Diabetic Diva\, and yes… her blood sugar is probably higher than yours. Fueled by insulin\, rhinestones\, and sequins Diana brings high energy\, sharp wit\, and unapologetic queerness to every stage she graces. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \nBabie Majora (they/them) \nRecently relocated from Toronto to Halifax\, Babia Majora is a trans non-binary artist who saunters all the way along the gender spectrum. Mixing drag\, burlesque\, and boylesque\, they are a winner of Canada’s drag competition Empire’s Ball Season 2\, and recognized as one of Canada’s top three Xlesque (non-binary burlesque) performers. Babia combines elements of burlesque’s classic sensuality with drag’s vibrant\, larger-than-life persona\, creating performances that are both seductive and thought-provoking\, while celebrating the freedom to exist beyond the binary. \n  \n  \nAuntie Karm (they/them) \nSURPRISE!!! Auntie Karm is back back back again. With being the founder of The Glitter Haus that contains their drag children Slayosha Nicole Smith and Tiffany Not a Top. Auntie is always down to give you a camp\, singing or bratz performance. I am so excited to be able to share my art with you all\, and I look forward to seeing everyone there! \nRetro Hippo Boutique \nHannah and I (Shelley) of Retro Hippo Boutique are very excited to be a part of the Pride Market. We are a brick and mortar store located in Centreville that specialize in coloured glass\, ceramics\, lighting\, afghans\, really anything that is from 1940s to the 90s that have nostalgia with fun and flair. We started the business 5 years ago to give Hannah the opportunity to be out in the public\, being a person with Cerebral Palsy and needing support is a challenge for employers. Hannah is Pansexual\, Shelley is Queer and Hannah has an identical transgender twin brother. \nCalliopes Cauldron \nLeigh is a disabled\, bi mom with a quirky sense of style that comes out in her jewelry. Her jewelry designs may seem a little… odd\, but her children have said that she can’t make anything straight. They are prime examples of that. \nBelow the Felt \nBelow the Felt Creations is fantastical felt created by a fantastical creator! Everything from fungi to fandom can be found in their array of figures\, with room for custom orders. A passion-project of part-human\, part-muppet Lilly Ashdown\, Below the Felt Creations is her way to bring her whimsy driven art to the world and hopefully inspire joy! \n \nFox + Fae \nMy name is Ashley (she/they)\, and I hand draw fine-line botanicals as Fox + Fae. Get my designs as cards\, prints\, or ask about commissions! Always happy to work with folks on custom designs for prints\, tattoos\, or whatever else you can dream up. I also offer cutesy beaded bracelets and necklaces. \nKaslo Aran Pottery \nKaslo Aran Pottery\, queer owned and located in the Valley\, will be in attendance at the Pride Market with a collection of hand crafted and wheel thrown functional ceramics as well as original lino block prints. \n \nDisco is Not Dead Designs \nNicole Langdon is a 28 year old queer femme who was raised in Ellershouse\, Nova Scotia. A hairstylist by trade since 2020\, catering to genderless salon services\, she was diagnosed with Thoracic outlet syndrome in 2022\, and founded Disco Is Not Dead Designs during a 5 month surgical leave after her first\, and later second\, rib removal. Some of her first designs can be found proudly on display in the windows at Bridge Beauty Bar in Kentville. Each mirrored tile is hand placed by Nicole\, and every discoball sculpture is unique. \nNicole draws inspiration from mixing the beauty of nature in the Annapolis Valley with the reflective\, almost armored effect from the tiles\, along with a love of dance music\, sparkles\, and a fascination for the way light can transform a space. \nShe is firm on the opinion that disco is not dead. \n \nGalaxy Overload \nGalaxy Overload blends cute and nerdy ideas to make unique hand-crafted goods. Ever evolving\, there are always new items being created from adorable crocheted toys and keychains\, and useful home goods\, to glittery resin accessories like the ‘Glittery Glow-in-the Dark’ resin earrings\, the ‘adorable’ beaded bracelets\, ‘Iconic’ Pride Bees and Pride Cacti. \nRadical Cat Creations (Xe/they/nekm) \nRadical Cat Creations has been creating geeky and Pride related goodness for over a decade. Focusing mainly on cross stitching but also using other fiber arts including different embroidery techniques and weaving\, xe creates accessories and home decor to show your spirit to the world through self-expression. Imriel is a non-binary\, queer\, neurodiverse\, and Black/Indigenous person who has been working with Pride focused activism for many years and currently resides in New Minas with nekm dogs (Dean and Sammy)\, snake (Wesley) and husband.

Known for her rich\, velvety voice and dynamic blend of indie-folk and rock influences\, Freya’s music will take you through an evocative journey of self-discovery and reflection\, with a gentle yet powerful lure into an intimate and heartfelt realm. Her debut EP\, Wholeheartedly\, explores queer longing\, love\, and joy\, while embracing the various stages of navigating relationships and identity. To love or live wholeheartedly is to do so without reservation\, to be intrepid leaders of our own lives. DESCRIPTION:Get artsy and create something beautiful in a safe space! \nWe’re hosting a queer crafting night at Bee’s Knees General Store and Bakery. We’ll have plenty of supplies on hand for you to get inspired by\, or feel free to bring your own work in progress. \nAnd you know it wouldn’t be a Bee’s Knees night without tasty treats from the bakery. \nThis event is free to attend and open to all ages. \nAccessibility Notes: \nEntrances: Front door is manual\, with a sloped entrance from the parking lot. There is one step in front of the building but smooth access is possible from the parking lot.\nParking: Currently no designated accessible space. Following Pride by the Sea T. will take the stage for an afternoon of tunes from both T. and up-and-coming queer artists! \nThis is a family-friendly\, free event. \nT. Thomason\n \nThoughtful and true\, T. Thomason’s songs shine through the darkness in the world. Since he began releasing music as a teenager\, Halifax-based Thomason has been on a journey of discovery. Lead by curiosity as his way of being\, Thomason approaches songwriting as a commitment to “Say tough things tenderly\,” a practice that reveals an impressive depth of wisdom\, clarity and courage in the young artist. Thomason’s attentive\, confident presence is felt in all aspects of his music\, in songs that build from ballad to banger\, in songs that balance confession\, confrontation and resolution\, in songs that lay it all bare. Highly recommended for sweet bbs in their truest colours\, and specifically guaranteed for fans of MUNA\, Maggie Rogers\, Troye Sivan and Kim Petras. \nCatherine Kennedy\n \nSoulful Saint John singer-songwriter\, Catherine Kennedy invites you into music where each song tells someone’s story\, and allows you to connect your own within it. Her music is a place where fact and fiction meet and nostalgia seeps in. Catherine released her solo EP Fifty-Fifty Chance in 2018\, took some time to perform on stages around the east coast such as Area 506\, Folly Fest\, Paddlefest and Shivering Songs\, and released her debut album in 2022 alongside her band. As well as being the winner of Breakthrough Artist of the Year (2022)\, she was also nominated for Recording of the Year and Song of the Year for the Music New Brunswick Awards. \nNatasha Sophia\nPillow Fite\nAccessibility Note:\nThe Pride Concert hosted by T. There will be lawn games\, a photobooth courtesy of the Wolfville Wedding Chapel\, and some complimentary refreshments. \nFree\, family-friendly event \nPerformers\nQueen Morticious\n \nQueen Morticious is your local friend and she is secretly living in your basement. She was also your babysitter back in the 90’s. Mort is the Annapolis Valley’s favourite unhinged malignant spirit\, but that’s not public knowledge (so keep your mouth shut Deborah). \nQueera Bang\n \nQueera Bang (they/them) is a non-binary performer/producer with the goal of creating more access to queer events\, safe spaces\, and visibility for youth in rural Nova Scotia. They strive to create shows and spaces that celebrate gender diversity and drag beyond the world of Rupaul. Queera is known for their roller skating antics and ridiculousness on the mic. \nMisty Towers\n \nBorn spring 2023 \, Misty is welcome to Kjipuktuk/Halifax as one of the newest members of the Haus of Towers. She’s hit the scene heels first showcasing her talents. Curves\, swerves\, and a smile that will shake your nerves. Misty is looking forward to bringing some cheer to a stage near you. \nCookie Cunnigham\n \nCookie Cunningham is a drag king of flare and style\, he likes to shake it up and shake things loose\, so always prepare for something to come off. When professor utonium put this one together after the powerpuff girls he mixed\, black excellence\, sensuality and a whole lot of confidence. \nLumen Lux\n \nLumen Lux is a multifaceted performer who fell in love with the arts at a young age. Beginning her fire journey in 2016\, Lumen progressed from spinning fire to eating fire to breathing it. Their many talents also include hooping\, flow arts\, gogo and burlesque. \nLumen Lux has performed at festivals such as Evolve Music Festival\, Fire and Water Cultural Festival\, Nocturne\, Future Forest\, Fredericton Pride and many other events throughout Atlantic Canada. \nThey have done collaborations with many other artists and have worked with performing organizations such as Serpentine Studios and Luminosity Circus and have recently started producing her own burlesque and drag shows under the alias Lumen Lux Productions. \nThe Wolfville Queer Community Chorus\n \nThe Wolfville Queer Community Choir is a multi-generational group of singers from the 2SLGBTQ+ community that gather each week to make music and connect with one another. Led by Freya Milliken and Katie Hutten. \nTwig Newton\n \nTwig might be the oldest baby drag king in the province. With a love of fun and a passion to be a support or advocate for all walks of life he takes to stage with an enthusiasm that can’t be missed.
