She speaks and educates about her lived experience through her intersectionality . Chris works toward creating spaces for QTBIPOC people\, as well as working with 2SLGBTIQIA+ youth to ensure those spaces will be upheld for years to come. Chris is the former Vice Chair of Halifax Pride (2020-2022) where she uses that platform to ensure equity for all of the community \,while focusing on our marginalized and racialized communities .Chris is also the Recipient of The YMCA Peace Medal for Equity\, Diversity & Inclusion. Known for her drag persona Elle Noir\, where she is as fierce on stage as she is her activism .Elle Noir is a 19 Year veteran of Drag . Known as a local legend and Winner of The Best Halifax Drag Performer for the last 6 years consecutively . \nRebecca Rose \nBorn and raised in Nova Scotia\, Mi’kma’ki. A unionized freelance writer\, editor\, consultant\, and presenter\, currently based in Dartmouth\, NS. \nRebecca oscillates between writing articles for both online and print publications and part-time writing contracts for non-profit\, government\, and private clients. \nA Toronto Metropolitan University Journalism graduate Rebecca has written and edited for: The Coast\, DailyXtra.com\, Our Times\, Nova Scotia Advocate\, Rabble.ca\, Halifax Media Co-op\, Autostraddle\, the Review of Journalism and the book OUT: Queer Looking\, Queer Acting Revisited. \nWith over a decade of experience within the student and labour movements\, Queer and Trans and feminist communities\, Rebecca has in-depth knowledge of: federal\, provincial and municipal politics; post-secondary education; various social movements; issues affecting Queer and Trans communities; misogyny and rape culture; and reproductive justice. We operate in Halifax Regional Municipality\, South Shore\, Annapolis Valley and Colchester-Cumberland serving 77% of the province. We collaborate with local businesses and community agencies to support people\, primarily women and children\, as they transition to a life free of violence.\nThe Transformation ClosetThe Transformation Closet is a program created by Sexual Health Nova Scotia that provides free gender-affirming gear to anyone of any age throughout the province. The closet has on-site locations sprinkled throughout Nova Scotia where community members can visit to try on gear and take away items that day. We also provide the option to fill out our Google form with requests for gear which can be sent out via mail or picked up at one of our members centres. I also do wire wrapped tiaras and jewelry from repurposed material like old forks\, knives\, and spoons. I am a bisexual mother\, and “Mom” to many. I am part nerd\, and part geek and if I can make at least one person smile each day of my life then I figure I will have lived a good life.\nRemy’s Friends PetwearRemy is my beloved chocolate lab\, who was diagnosed with a rare condition that required emergency spinal surgery in New Brunswick last year when he was just 3 years old. Remy is a social butterfly who really missed his doggy friends while he’s been isolated at home during his recovery process. I started to make him various bandanas to help brighten his day and it seemed to help. I then started giving them to friends and family for their pets to wear as a way to help keep them close. From there\, Remy’s Friends Pet Wear was inspired with the idea that by purchasing a bandana for your pet\, they’ll be becoming one of Remy’s Friends. We currently have a few Pride themed bandanas available as part of our Summer ’24 collection.
